CCTV appeal after sexual assault on young woman in Lancaster city centre

Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault and have released surveillance images of a man they want to speak to.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, June 13. Lancashire Police said a woman in her twenties was sexually assaulted in Middle Street in Lancaster city centre shortly after 2am.



Officers investigating the incident have now released surveillance images of a man they believe may assist in their investigation and are asking anyone who recognises him to come forward.

In a statement on Facebook this afternoon (June 17), Lancaster Police said: “Do you recognise this man? We would like to speak to him in connection with our investigation into a sexual assault in Lancaster.”

“We were called to a report of a sexual assault at approximately 2:05 a.m. on June 13. It was reported that a woman in her twenties was sexually assaulted on Middle Street in Lancaster.

“We know that the quality of these images is not the best, but if you recognize him, please contact us. We are asking for information and witnesses.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101 and quote log 0099 of 13 June.”
