Motorcyclist killed in two-vehicle crash in Calhoun County | WKZO | Everything Kalamazoo

TEKONSHA TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A Jackson man was killed and two other people were injured in a fatal two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon.
a motorcycle and a pickup truck in Calhoun County.

The accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on M-60 near 18 1⁄2 Mile Road.

Michigan State Police said their preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a Ford pickup truck was turning into a driveway on M-60 when the motorcycle struck the pickup truck in the rear.

A 67-year-old Jackson man who was driving the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. State police say he was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the pickup, a 42-year-old woman from Union City, and her passenger
suffered minor injuries. They were taken to Oaklawn Hospital where they were treated and released.

In accordance with state police policy, the names of those involved in the accident were not released.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, the Tekonsha Fire Department, and the Marshall Area Fire and Ambulance Department.

M-60 was closed for about four hours for crash site investigation and cleanup operations.

The investigation into the crash is not yet complete.
