  • Ice House Radio in Brazil | Wednesday to Friday | FREE – The traveling DJ show is opening a new weekly residency this summer on the main patio of Brasil Cafe in Montrose. The Department of Black Phenomena kicks off June 16, followed by a Thursday show with DJ Cold One, Duane Bradley, Dusty Tombs and Whitney Screwston. Then, on Friday, find Nengo Zuniga, Alikhan and Noey Lopez to close the first week of shows. 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Comedian Matt McCusker at Houston Improv | Friday Saturday – The co-host of Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast and the author is ready to deliver stories drawn from his life experiences and a wide range of adventures. $100 for 4 and more. Hours vary.
  • The Sklar brothers in the secret group | Friday Saturday – The twin brothers comics, best known for their show Cheap seats on ESPN, arrive at EaDo for back-to-back nights of hilarious storytelling and observations. $20. Friday 8 p.m.; Saturday 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
  • Cyclone of memories: an AstroWorld exhibition at the Houston Toy Museum | From Friday to Sunday – Relive memories of Houston’s beloved theme park in an exhibit of memorabilia, memorabilia, photographs and collectibles dating from 1967 to 2005, with many rare items never before seen by the general public. $14; $10 for those 65 and over; children pay up to 13 years old. From noon to 6 p.m.

  • DeeBaby at the House of Blues – Head to the heart of downtown where H-Town’s DeeBaby takes over the House of Blues stage with her new single “Gangsters Get Lonely Too.” $35 and up. 7 p.m.
  • The Comedy Cookie Jar Open Mic at The Secret Group | FREE – Comedians J Cookie and Cornelius White bring you the Comedy Cookie Jar, a weekly open mic featuring the city’s upcoming comics, veteran comedians and nationally touring comics trying out new material at the EaDo comedy club. 10 p.m.

  • Lego Night at Decant Urban Winery – Choose from 10 different Lego sets, then build amazing creations at this Garden Oaks wine event hosted by the Houston Toy Museum. $14.99. 5 p.m.
  • Plant + Paint at No Label Brewing Co. – Select an easy-care, home-grown houseplant provided by Pish Posh Plants and receive a terracotta pot to paint, plus plant care tips at Katy Brewery. $40. 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • All-day rosé dining at Brenner’s on the Bayou – Treat yourself to a superb four-course dining experience, specially designed to pair with still sparkling and rosé wines. $175. 6:30 p.m.
  • Table des Nations with chef Jennifer Sebasigari at Lymbar – Prepare for a fantastic gastronomic excursion across five courses, accompanied by cocktails that feature Lymbar’s unique reserve bourbon. Dishes include house-cured duck, grilled lamb skewers, barbecue pork and plantain, and Mandazi fritters. $98. 6:30 p.m.
  • Saint Arnold’s Beer Dinner at Georgia James – Bring a friend for this dinner joint as Saint Arnold continues to celebrate its 30th anniversary with a four-course dinner accompanied by beer at Georgia James. $125. 6:30 p.m.
  • Comedian Troy Bond at Houston Improv – With his “Modern Seinfeld” sketches going viral on social media, comedian Troy Bond brings his tongue-in-cheek sets and crowd work to Spring Branch for one night only. $120 for 4 and more. 7:30 p.m.

  • New Faces of Houston Pride Festival and Parade at Houston City Hall | FREE – A new addition to this year’s Pride festivities, this all-day festival features hundreds of vendors, performances by Billy Gilman, Lauren Sanderson and Chris Housman, and an evening parade through the streets of downtown . Viewing the parade is free; the festival costs $3. The festival takes place from noon to 6 p.m.; The parade begins at 7:30 p.m.
  • Canvas and cocktails at the Houston Botanical Garden – Unleash your creativity with Houston artist and teacher Roberto Castillo during a cocktail-infused evening of painting inspired by the nature around you. $35. 1 p.m.
  • 19th Weekend: Willie Clayton in Concert at Warehouse Live Midtown – Celebrate the weekend of June 17 with live daytime performances from Will Clayton, PC Band, Step Rideau & the Zydeco Outlaws and S. Dott. All white attire is strongly suggested and Jacos BBQ will serve it on the terrace. $50 and up. 2:30 p.m.
  • Soaked: The Official Houston Pride Pool Party at the Heights House Hotel – Make a splash at Space Cowboy, the pool and bar at Heights House Hotel. Pride Houston 365 will host this pool party with live entertainment, DJs, games, food and drink specials, and more. $15 and up. 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Emo Pride evening at Dan Electro – Let it all out at a wild pride party with live emo tunes from Shosty and Screaming Insecurities, plus drinks, vendors and a photo booth at Heights Guitar Bar. 6 p.m.
  • Sunset & Sounds: summer concert series with Motenko at the Lucine Hotel | No coverage – One of the island’s newest boutique hotels hosts a weekly concert series on the rooftop bar. This week we feature the neo-retro R&B and soul sounds of Austin-based Motenko. 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • mean girls Film screening at Discovery Green | FREE – The classic – and endlessly quoted – high school cliques film is screened on the lawn of the downtown park. 7 p.m.
  • Classic Albums Live presents Jimi Hendrix: Are You Experienced at Miller Outdoor Theater | FREE – Ring out the bells when Classic Albums Live brings the sounds of the legendary Jimi Hendrix to Miller Outdoor for a note-for-note recreation of the iconic 1967 debut album, Are you experienced. 8:30 p.m.
  • Take On Me: 80s Dance Party at White Oak Music Hall – Sing and dance to a playlist of classic 80s tunes at Northside. $15. 9 p.m.
  • Pink Planet! New Faces of Houston Pride Official After Party at Post Houston – Continue the party after the New Faces of Pride parade with this afterparty at The Post, featuring international DJ GSP and Houston’s Marti Frieson. $20 and up. 9 p.m.
  • NRG Club meeting at Etro nightclub | No coverage – Dance, dance, dance is the show all night long at this downtown venue with classics from bands like Depeche Mode, New Order, Erasure, The Cure, and more. 9 p.m.
  • Seth Troxler DJ Set at Bauhaus – Fans of house and techno music don’t miss the opportunity to see this very popular DJ at the Downtown nightclub for all things EDM. $15 and up. 10 p.m.
