Meerut woman raped by Instagram boyfriend and his assistant on the pretext of her job – Republic World

Shamli: Befriending a stranger on a social media platform proved costly for a Meerut woman when she was raped by him and his partner in a hotel in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district. The woman had met the accused, who claimed to be a bank employee, on Instagram.

According to sources, the job-seeking woman was raped after being forced to drink a cold drink laced with drugs. According to sources, the accused had offered the woman a job in a bank and asked her to meet him in Dehradun for the same.

Instead of coming himself, the accused allegedly sent his friend to take the victim to Dehradun with the promise of a job. As per their plan, the accused’s assistant took the woman not to Dehradun but to Thana Bhawan in Shamli district where she met the accused.

The woman claimed that the men gave her a cold drink laced with sedatives and then took her to a hotel where she was gang raped.

Based on the victim’s complaint, the police have registered a case.

The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
