Demetris Dean, three-time OL star, commits to Houston

Houston remains on a hot streak during their official visit weekends as they recommit.

The newest commitment is three-star offensive lineman Demetris Dean II from Jasper, Texas.

Dean was among the visitors to campus this weekend in Houston.

There were several engagements this weekend from Houston’s official visiting group, Dean being the latest. He talked about the weekend visit and how the whole thing played into his decision.

“Everyone around you is welcoming,” Dean said. “They showed their love and kept it for me.”

The 6-foot-4, 285-pounder has developed strong relationships within the Houston program. It helps when Dean has a family connection on campus.

“I have a lot of family in Houston and my aunt works there too.”

The official visit weekend was really just a formality for Dean, who knew he was going to make his decision. The key to the visit was bringing her mother to campus and allowing her to see the program for herself.

“It was already on my mind, I just had to get my mom there.”

Dean is now the 10th commitment in the Cougars’ 2025 class, including the third announced today.
