VSP investigates an accident at Mount Jackson with injuries

The Virginia State Police (VSP) provides an emailed update on the investigation of a single-vehicle crash that occurred in Shenandoah County on June 10.

At approximately 1:25 p.m., a Ford F-250 traveling south on Ox Road veered off the right side of the road and oversteered.

The Ford, driven by Christopher D. Litten of Mount Jackson, crossed the double solid yellow center line, left the left side of the road and overturned.

Litten, 37, was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Shenandoah Memorial Hospital.

A passenger in the Ford suffered serious injuries and was flown to Winchester Medical Center.

The 33-year-old passenger, also from Mount Jackson, was also traveling without a seatbelt.

Litten was charged with losing control of the vehicle.

VSP officers are trying to find out how the driver lost control.
