21-year-old motorcyclist arrested for speeding 141 mph on I-93 in New Hampshire – NECN

A motorcyclist who allegedly traveled at speeds up to 141 mph on Interstate 93 in Bow, New Hampshire, was arrested on Sunday.

New Hampshire State Police said their special unit was conducting a traffic surveillance operation when a sergeant from an aircraft spotted a motorcycle traveling south at speeds between 125 and 141 mph, weaving through traffic.

The motorcyclist, identified as 21-year-old Aaron LaFlower of Belmont, was stopped on the ground by an officer and taken into custody, police said. LaFlower was charged with reckless driving and released on bail. He is scheduled to appear in Concord District Court on July 26.

More than two dozen other drivers were stopped by state police during Sunday’s operation, police said. Of the 30 vehicles stopped, 28 were traveling more than 90 miles per hour, with nine of them traveling more than 100 miles per hour.

In addition, several other violations were identified and penalized, including driving after the closure and vehicle inspection regulations.

According to the State Police, the special unit focuses on enforcing traffic laws, promoting road safety and reducing accidents. The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and tools to effectively monitor and enforce traffic laws, including a Cessna 182 aircraft.

“Speeding is dangerous and costs innocent lives,” Captain Matthew Amatucci said in a statement. “State police will continue to implement enforcement measures to improve traffic safety for all residents and visitors.”
