16-year-old arrested and charged with murder over fatal Far East shooting

INDIANAPOLIS – A 16-year-old girl has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in far east Indy in March.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department announced Wednesday that Savannah Allen has been charged as an adult with murder for her alleged involvement in the shooting death of 25-year-old Addam Hart.

On March 28, officers were called to the 2200 block of Gable Drive around 1 a.m. after receiving reports that a person had been shot. IMPD said at the time that officers found a man with gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition, where he later died.

Hunt’s death was quickly ruled a homicide after the Marion County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy.

According to IMPD, as their investigation continued, homicide detectives identified Allen as the primary suspect in the incident.

IMPD said its Violent Crimes Unit located Allen on May 2 and took her into custody without further incident. On May 7, she was preliminarily charged with murder by the Marion County District Attorney’s Office.

IMPD urged anyone with information related to the incident to contact Detective Greg Shue at 317-327-3475 or email [email protected].
