After skydiving accident in Tooele County, one person has to go to hospital

TOOELE According to the Tooele County Sheriff’s Office, one person was hospitalized as a result of a skydiving accident in Tooele County Sunday afternoon.

Det. Goss of the TCSO said authorities are unsure whether a skydiver lost consciousness in the air and was unable to open the main parachute. However, Det. Goss also said other members of the team saw the emergency parachute open.

As the skydiver approached the ground, she hit the part of a roof where a power line ran, according to police.

However, when emergency services arrived at the scene, the victim was breathing and conscious.

According to police, the victim did not get caught in a power line while approaching the ground. Police are also not sure whether the parachute hit a power line at all.

Furthermore, the police could not determine whether the victim had actually suffered an electric shock.

The victim was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Salt Lake City in critical condition.
