1 dead and 1 seriously injured in shooting on the Far South Side

CHICAGO – One man was killed and another seriously injured in a shooting on the Far South Side Sunday afternoon.

According to Chicago police, the shooting occurred shortly after 3:15 p.m. in the 11500 block of South Lasalle Street in the West Pullman neighborhood.


According to police, the victims, a 34-year-old man and a 59-year-old man, were in the area when they were approached by an unknown person who pulled out a gun and opened fire in their direction.

The 34-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was taken to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The 59-year-old man also suffered several gunshot wounds to his body and was taken to hospital in serious condition.

It is currently unclear what led to the fatal shooting. Authorities say an investigation is currently underway.

Authorities have not yet identified the victim.
