Jeep crashes into wall at Buffalo Grove 7-Eleven

The driver of a white Grand Jeep Cherokee made an awkward entry into a Buffalo Grove convenience store, crashing into the side wall of a 7-Eleven.

Fire officials said the vehicle crashed through the wall of the 7-Eleven in a shopping center on the northeast corner of Deerfield Parkway and Weiland Road around 2:30 p.m.

Authorities say the driver did not need to be taken to the hospital and was released to her family.

It remains unclear whether she received a citation. Authorities on scene were unable to specify how the accident occurred.

A store employee, Kiran Chalicheemala, said he heard a “boom” while inside, then went outside to find the woman getting out of the vehicle.

“She was a little worried,” he said. “She was not injured.”

The accident produced a gaping hole in the cinder block wall, but authorities said the building was still in good condition. Village building and zoning employees were expected to arrive on scene Sunday afternoon.

The vehicle sustained significant front-end damage and was towed around 4 p.m.
