Gallup man sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexually abusing a minor

GALLUP, NM (KRQE) – A Gallup native received a 10-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to unlawful sexual contact with two minors in incidents over a decade ago.

The man, 30-year-old Lanthem Eskeets, admitted having contact with two victims between August 2012 and August 2013. One victim was between 12 and 16 years old. The other was younger than 12 years old, according to the plea agreement filed in federal court.

The incidents occurred on the Navajo Nation. After his prison sentence, Eskeets will be under supervision for 10 years, the U.S. Department of Justice said. Eskeets also must register as a sex offender.
