Firefighters find 1 dead and 1 injured person at the foot of a cliff at Point Fermin in San Pedro

SAN PEDRO, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Firefighters recovered a body and treated an injured person at the foot of the cliffs at Point Fermin early Sunday.

Shortly before 2 a.m., Los Angeles firefighters were called to the scene in San Pedro to conduct a cliff rescue.

When they arrived, they found one person dead at the base of the cliffs and a second person with injuries. The injured person was taken to a local hospital.

Due to poor visibility, they were unable to transport the body by plane, but another land-based rope rescue team was called in.

The deceased is a woman aged about 26 who had apparently fallen about 30 metres from the cliff.
