UPDATE | New photos released in the course of the sexual assault investigation | The latest from WDEL News

The investigation is ongoing into the alleged sexual assault of a child under the age of 12 last week at the YMCA on Chestnut Street between Marsh and Darley Road.

New Castle County Police said the incident reportedly occurred late Thursday afternoon, June 13, 2024, in the bathhouse of the facility’s outdoor pool.

Police have released a second surveillance photo of a person they identified as a “person of interest.”

In this photo, the “person of interest” is dressed all in black. In the first photo, he was wearing orange shorts.

In addition, police suspect that a shirtless man in the surveillance photo may be a witness and would like to speak to that person.
