Bomb threat against Pride event in Grand Marais under investigation

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the Saturday morning threat

GRAND MARAIS, Minnesota – The Cook County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a bomb threat targeting a Pride event in Grand Marais Saturday morning.

The threat was reported around 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning. The Sheriff’s Office immediately responded and conducted a precautionary raid. This was negative and the Sheriff’s Office concluded that there was no evidence of an active threat or endangerment to anyone.

Sheriff Pat Eliason led the investigation and said in a statement: “We take this threat very seriously and will use every resource at our disposal to find the source. The safety of all the people of Cook County is our top priority.”

According to the Crow Wing County Bomb Disposal Squad, officers who responded did everything the Bomb Disposal Squad would have done. The threat is still under active investigation.
