Man arrested in connection with car theft in East Boston – Boston 25 News

EAST BOSTON – A man was arrested in connection with a car theft in East Boston earlier this month.

Officers arrested Timothy Deconinck, 55, of Malden in connection with a $240,000 robbery that occurred June 7 in East Boston, Boston police said.

According to a Boston Police report, the victim withdrew an undisclosed amount of money from a bank in the Fenway neighborhood around 9:00 a.m. At around 9:30 a.m., the victim drove to the area of ​​230 Meridian Street in East Boston, parked in front of his business, and began talking on the phone with his daughter.

The victim then told police that two unknown white men wearing black clothing and badges around their necks approached the side windows of his driver and passenger car. They had a search warrant and ordered him to “get out of the car,” according to the report.

Boston police said officers responded to a burglary at 212 Waldemar Avenue around 1:20 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, after a 911 caller reported two men breaking into an apartment with power tools.

When officers arrived, they found Deconinck with a drill, bits and other tools attempting to break into an apartment at 212 Waldemar Ave.

Police also said they arrested 59-year-old William Cataldo of Saugus in connection with the break-in.

Deconinck is scheduled to be arraigned in East Boston District Court on his outstanding warrant, which includes charges of unarmed robbery of a person over 65, auto theft, and impersonation of a public official, among a number of other charges.

Cataldo is scheduled to be arraigned in East Boston District Court on charges of possession of burglary tools, attempted burglary, criminal damage and resisting arrest.
