Sexual assault in KSRTC bus; 23-year-old woman punishes local youth – KERALA – GENERAL

KOZHIKODE: A 23-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in a KSRTC bus. The woman was attacked in a crowded bus en route from Mananthavady to Kozhikode.
Shortly after the sexual assault, she hit the teenager. Although the driver reported the incident to the police, no charges were filed because the woman said she did not file a report. The woman said she punished him and therefore did not file a report.

Defendant receives RI for sexually abusing a woman
MATTANUR: The fast track POCSO court at Mattannur sentenced the accused to 17 years in jail and ordered him to pay a fine of Rs 75,000 for sexually abusing a woman. POCSO judge Anit Joseph sentenced Kottenvida Vinod (59), a resident of Kodiyeri Idayilpeedika. The accused was asked to pay Rs 60,000 out of the fine to the victim. He has to serve the sentence jointly. The incident took place in the New Mahi police station premises. The case is that the accused entered the woman’s house and sexually abused her. Sub-Inspector JS Ratheesh completed the investigation and filed the chargesheet. Special Public Prosecutor PV Sheena appeared for the prosecution.
