Weather forecast and radar for Buffalo, New York and WNY

A somewhat unstable trend persists into the weekend and into the weekend as an upper-atmospheric storm parks itself over the Great Lakes. It won’t rain constantly, but there will be multiple opportunities for rain, although it’s expected to become more isolated as Mother’s Day approaches.

Cooler temperatures will be the rule over the next few days before a warming trend next week.


WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON: Very windy, lots of sunshine, another isolated afternoon shower or thunderstorm in Lake Ontario counties, high: 65 north, 75 well south, wind: SW 15-20 gusting to 40 mph

WEDNESDAY EVENING: Any remaining showers drift south toward Buffalo and taper off this evening, cloud breaks, low: 44-50, wind: NW 8-18 becoming light NE

THURSDAY: Clouds thicken, showers develop for midday and afternoon, mostly from Buffalo southward, high: 58-63, wind: E 8-15 mph, low: 48

FRIDAY: A dry start then lighter and scattered rain showers develop, odd breaks, maximum: 59, minimum: 43

SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy, a few afternoon showers southernmost of the metro, high: 57, low: 47

SUNDAY (MOTHER’S DAY): Isolated showers mainly east of Buffalo, PM breaks in clouds, high: 60, low: 46

MONDAY: Morning sun, afternoon clouds, high: 65, low: 53

TUESDAY: Insulated shower ends early, increasing sunshine, maximum: 70, minimum: 54
