Man arrested for drug trafficking in Aroostook County, Maine

A 34-year-old man was arrested for drug trafficking after police received a tip that he was transporting narcotics to Aroostook County, Maine.

Suspect arrested for drug trafficking in Aroostook County

Timothy Pinkham of Somersworth, New Hampshire, was stopped on I-95 in Sherman on June 4. He was traveling from Massachusetts to northern Maine with a large quantity of drugs.

Man tried to dispose of fentanyl after traffic stop

The MDEA’s Aroostook County Task Force and Maine State Police said Pinkham attempted to dispose of the fentanyl after being stopped.

3.8 pounds of meth seized in vehicle and locked container

The MDEA said police searched his vehicle and “seized over 1,300 grams (2.8 pounds) of methamphetamine and over 3.5 grams of fentanyl. A locked container was also found in the vehicle, for which agents later obtained a search warrant. Inside the container were an additional 441 grams of methamphetamine, bringing the total amount seized to over 3.8 pounds. The street value of the methamphetamine seized is over $150,000.”

Several drug offenses

Pinkham was charged with aggravated trafficking in drugs, two counts of trafficking in drugs, two counts of possession of drugs and driving without a license. His bail was set at $75,000 cash.

Brought to prison

Pinkham was taken to the Aroostook County Jail.
