7 people arrested in connection with human trafficking in Cumberland County

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) – Seven men were arrested Friday in connection with an undercover human trafficking operation in Cumberland County.

With the assistance of Manna Church, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit has arrested individuals seeking sexual services from prostitutes in Fayetteville and Cumberland County.

Due to the high level of illegal activity, detectives focused on the area around Eastern Boulevard and Gillespie Street.

The following persons were arrested for incitement to prostitution:

• Nico Treman Wilson, 28, of Winston-Salem is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on $1000.00 bail
• Stevie Junior Oxendine, 52, of Shannon is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center on $500.00 bail.
• Corey Stefon Brown, 30, of Lumberton is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on $500.00 bail
• Darryl Leroy McCoy, 39, of Fayetteville is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on $500.00 bail.
• Terence Mario Smith, 43, of Fayetteville is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on $500.00 bail
• Steven Lee Ivey, 45, of Saint Pauls was released on $500 bail
• Ricky Wayne Bernard, 40, of Fayetteville was released on bail to appear in court.

The first appearance for all seven offenders is scheduled for Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Cumberland County Detention Center.
