Extreme heat and humidity persist

Happy Father’s Day! It will be another extremely hot day, with highs of 99°F in Nashville and heat index readings above 100°F. Again, limit your time outdoors and stay hydrated. There could also be sudden showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening. No severe weather is expected, but some showers could bring short, heavy downpours.

The extreme heat will continue on Monday, with highs again around 35 degrees and “felt temperatures” around 38 degrees.

Tuesday and Wednesday the humidity will be temporarily a little better. It will still be very warm with temperatures around 30 degrees, but the humidity will no longer be as high. Both days will be mostly cloudy.

Thursday is the first official day of summer and ironically, it will be warmer again. Maximum temperatures will rise above 35 degrees and humidity will increase again.

By next weekend our temperatures will be back above 35 degrees. We will stay dry most of the week, with only a slight chance of rain on Saturday afternoon.
