As The Sun reported, the celebrity chef announced in 2021 that he had been diagnosed with arthritis (more specifically in his knee).

Ramsey, a fitness enthusiast, had injured himself while training in London. According to the outlet, he said: “I’ve just had to use crutches for two weeks as I’ve had meniscus surgery. I ran up the hill in Richmond Park and I was racing up. It hurt like hell.”

Ramsey added that after receiving the X-rays, his doctor told him he had been diagnosed with arthritis in his knee.

He said he had never heard the word associated with himself before. The doctor advised the chef to slow down. He added: “It was a case of ‘imagine you have to walk 1.5 million steps over the next 30 years… take it easy’.”

The chef said he was a workaholic and did not want to gain weight during lockdown. He also revealed that his father died of a heart attack at the age of 53. He looks at his children and knows he cannot leave them “disorientated”.

Ramsey said he was “a little” afraid to quit, but he knew he would have to slow down at some point.
