Sonali Bendre shocked by fan’s suicide

What’s the matter

In a recent episode of Midday‘S The Bombay Film PodcastBollywood actress Sonali Bendre was shocked when she learned of the suicide of a fan in Bhopal in the 1990s.

Host Mayank Shekhar informed her about the tragic incident where a fan jumped out of a lake because he could not meet her.

Yes that is correct? (Is that true?) How can someone…,” replied an astonished Bendre.

Bendre reflected on the intense fan culture of the 90s

Bendre also looked into the intense fan culture of the 1990s and recalled cases where she received fan mail that she suspected was written in real blood.

“There was fan mail. We wanted to test whether it was real blood. If that were the case, I would be devastated,” she said.

The actress expressed her surprise at this extreme obsession with movie stars and asked why people put other people on such a high pedestal from which they are bound to fall.

Bendre thanked her parents for pulling the rug out from under her feet

Looking back at her early career, Bendre said she started out as a teenage model before becoming a Bollywood star.

She attributed her down-to-earth nature to her upbringing and her parents, who ensured that she remained humble despite her fame.

“When I came back home, my parents grounded me,” the actress revealed, emphasizing her family’s role in maintaining balance amid fame.

Bendre’s approach to fame and relationships

Bendre also revealed that as an actress, she never felt the need to constantly be in the spotlight or attend parties.

She preferred to take her time getting to know people and deciding who she could be friends with and who she needed to keep her distance from.

According to Bendre, this understanding has helped her stay grounded throughout her career.
