Prominent lawyer arrested for domestic violence

Police have arrested a prominent Greek lawyer after allegations of domestic violence were reported early Sunday morning.

According to sources, a doctor at a private clinic alerted authorities because he suspected domestic violence. When they arrived at the clinic, the lawyer and his 37-year-old wife claimed that she had fallen down the stairs. However, the doctor concluded that her injuries were consistent with physical abuse rather than a fall.

The case was subsequently referred to the Omonia Domestic Violence Unit for further investigation.

The lawyer was arrested and charged. He is awaiting his court date under judicial supervision.
