Sussex County man arrested after parole and release search | Latest News

BLADES, DE – A Sussex County man was arrested on multiple weapons and drug charges following an investigation that began Thursday morning.

Delaware State Police report that the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force was requested by the Department of Parole and Parole to assist with an administrative search at approximately 11:37 a.m. on Thursday, June 13. The search took place at the residence of 46-year-old parole inmate Carlo Munoz-Barreto on East Third Street in Blades, Delaware.

According to DSP, during a search of the apartment, probation officers found a stolen 9mm pistol, various pistol ammunition, approximately 43.31 grams of cocaine, approximately 0.455 grams of heroin, 45 Gabapentin tablets, 18 Tramadol tablets, a digital scale, drug paraphernalia and $814.

Carlo Munoz-Barreto was arrested and charged with the crimes listed below. He was remanded to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $120,000 bail.

– Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime

– Possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute

– Possession of a controlled substance

– Possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person is prohibited

– Receiving a stolen firearm

– Possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute

– Possession of a counterfeit controlled substance with intent to sell

– Possession of a prescription drug without a prescription

– Possession of drug paraphernalia
