Hot and dry for Father’s Day – Action News Jax

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – First Alert Weather meteorologist Trevor Gibbs takes a look at your Father’s Day forecast.

This evening the sky will be mostly clear with warm lows of around 20 degrees.

Father’s Day will be partly to mostly sunny and hot, with temperatures in the low 30s inland and in coastal areas near 30 degrees. Scattered to widely scattered showers/thunderstorms are possible along I-75 on Sunday, but the rest of the region is expected to remain rain-free.

Temperatures will be around 90 degrees for most of the next week, with offshore winds blowing every day.

There is a medium to high risk of rip currents for most of next week.

From the middle to the end of next week, the probability of rain will slowly increase again, but until then it will remain predominantly dry.

In the tropics, Gibbs is monitoring the southwestern Gulf of Mexico to see if the storm could extend into Mexico and/or Texas by mid-week. There are no local threats.
