Pedestrian killed in early morning crash near Kingstree

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Troopers are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident early this morning near Kingstree.

The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 52 near Brockington Road, about five miles north of Kingstree.

Lane Cpl. Lena Butler of the South Carolina Highway Patrol said a vehicle traveling east on U.S. 52 collided with a pedestrian.

Trooper Butler said the vehicle and driver were unknown.

The pedestrian died at the scene of the accident.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
