One dead in shooting in San Francisco’s Mission District

A murder investigation is underway after a person died of gunshot wounds in San Francisco’s Mission District on Saturday, police said.

The victim was found Saturday morning by San Francisco police, who arrived on Wiese Street shortly after 4 a.m. and said they found a victim “suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.”

Life-saving measures were attempted, but the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The San Francisco Police Department’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation.
