Jim Gragg receives the 2024 Trail Boss Award at the Buffalo Bill Rodeo

Jim Gragg received the 2024 Trail Boss Award on Saturday during the final performance of the Buffalo Bill Rodeo at the Wild West Arena.

The Tryon man has volunteered at the Buffalo Bill Rodeo for 50 years, untying the calves after each roping race.

He has never missed a performance in the last half century and has missed very few rodeo matinees.
