Anne Arundel County Police Investigate Severn Murder Case

UPDATE: From Anne Arundel County Police:

On June 14, 2024 at approximately 7:19 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1600 block of Meade Village Circle in Severn.

Upon arrival, officers located 34-year-old Keion McKinney of Severn, MD, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and located behind a building. He was pronounced dead at the scene. CID Homicide Squad arrived at the scene and took over the investigation.

Preliminary information indicates the victim was exiting a townhouse and was shot by a male suspect in the backyard. The suspect subsequently fled the scene. This appears to be a targeted incident and there is no threat to the community.

Shortly before 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024, Anne Arundel County Police were called to the 1600 block of Meade Village Circle for a shooting.

Upon arrival, they found a single male victim who had been shot.

Within an hour, the victim had died and the police were investigating murder.

This is the third murder case in Anne Arundel County in 2024.
