A man and a woman were killed in an accident on a highway in Canadian County Friday evening, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

A man and a woman were killed in a crash on a highway in Canadian County Friday night, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. At about 10 p.m., a tractor-trailer driven by Arthur L. Setzer, 49, of Fairview, was traveling north on U.S. 81, about 7.5 miles north of El Reno. An SUV driven by Javier Ocampo-Ojeda, 61, of Yukon, was traveling west on 192nd Street and attempted to cross the highway but was struck by the tractor-trailer, troopers said.>> Download the KOCO 5 app. Ocampo-Ojeda died of his injuries at the scene. A man and a woman were killed in an accident on a highway in Canadian County Friday evening, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

At about 10 p.m., a tractor-trailer driven by Arthur L. Setzer, 49, of Fairview, was traveling north on U.S. 81, about 7.5 miles north of El Reno. An SUV driven by Javier Ocampo-Ojeda, 61, of Yukon, was traveling west on 192nd Street and attempted to cross the highway, but was struck by the tractor-trailer, troopers said.

Ocampo-Ojeda died of his injuries at the scene of the accident. A passenger in the SUV, Reyna Pallares Reyes, 65, of Yukon, also died of her injuries at the scene, police reported.

Setzer was taken to a local hospital in acceptable condition, police said.
