Former students in Madhya Pradesh attack college professor with chilli powder and sticks

Sources from the college said that no one came to help Dhakad during the attack. After the attackers fled, he was taken to a nearby hospital. Due to the severity of his condition, he was referred to a hospital in Bhopal for treatment.

Betul: An assistant professor of Sanskrit at the Government Jaywanti Haksar (JH) College in Madhya Pradesh was brutally attacked on Friday afternoon. Professor Neeraj Dhakad was allegedly attacked by a former student, Annu Thakur, and his associates. An attempt to murder case has been registered against the attackers and efforts are on to arrest the suspects, Betul Police Commissioner Nischal Jharia said.

Eyewitnesses said that Annu Thakur, along with five to seven others, threw chilli powder in Dhakad’s eyes and beat him with sticks until he lost consciousness. Video footage showed the attackers approaching Dhakad’s room with their faces covered and sticks in their hands.

Kotwali police station in-charge Devkaran Deharia confirmed that a case has been filed against Annu Thakur and his accomplices and that their arrest is expected soon.
