Armed suspect shot dead by police in Sunnyside

Houston Police Department commanders are responding to an officer-involved shooting in southeast Houston.

The shooting happened around 6:15 p.m. Saturday at 8633 Comal Street in the Sunnyside neighborhood.

Police said the suspect was armed when he was shot by HPD officers. It’s unclear what exactly led to the shooting.

He was taken to hospital in stable condition. No police officers were shot and injured during this ordeal.
