Coast Guard assists Narragansett police with arrest

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WPRI) — The U.S. Coast Guard said it assisted Narragansett police with an arrest near Great Island Road Saturday morning.

According to authorities, the suspect was wanted for multiple crimes and alleged domestic violence.

Police called the Coast Guard for assistance after seeing the suspect on a commercial fishing boat.

The perpetrator is said to have also gone to a nearby dock while fleeing from the police after allegedly receiving a tip-off that the police were waiting for him there.

No further information about the suspect is available yet.
