Woman arrested in Madison Co. in connection with Virginia Amber Alert

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – A woman was arrested in Madison County in connection with a Virginia Amber Alert.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, they responded to the 5800 block of Battlefield Memorial Highway and requested a motor assist.

When Deputy Shane Johnson arrived at the scene, he contacted the driver, identified as Ashley Griffith, and a child.

Officers say Griffith indicated she needed a jump start for her vehicle.

After further investigation of the vehicle, officers discovered the Amber Alert over Virginia for an endangered missing person and a kidnapping warrant for Griffith.

The 30-year-old was charged with resisting arrest and fleeing out of state and booked into the Madison County Detention Center.

Madison County sheriff’s deputies took the child away.
