Fatal apartment fire in Picton under investigation

According to provincial police, one person died in a fire in Prince Edward County on Friday.

According to a news release, OPP officers responded to a fire at an apartment complex on West Mary Street in Picton, Ontario at around 2 p.m. on June 14.

The Prince Edward County Fire Department and Hastings Quinte EMS were involved in fighting the fire.

One person was taken to hospital and later pronounced dead, OPP said.

According to the OPP, police, the provincial fire marshal and the coroner are conducting an investigation.
