Precautionary boil water alert in Hialeah – NBC 6 South Florida

Residents in a Hialeah neighborhood were advised to boil their water out of an “abundance of caution” until the city could confirm that the water was not contaminated.

Authorities said the “precautionary boil water advisory” includes the following areas:

  • north: West 116th Street (NW 170th Street)
  • South: West 84th Street (NW 138th Street)
  • East: SB-I-75
  • West: W 44th Avenue (NW 107th Avenue)

Due to possible contamination, residents were advised to boil all water for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes for one minute.

The city said the order would remain in effect until samples show that the water is free of possible contaminants.

Residents will be notified when the warning is lifted.

The authorities did not give a reason for the alert.
