Shortly before 10 p.m., authorities were called to the area after receiving a report that a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

When police arrived, they found 47-year-old Gina LaVacca with life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police later determined that the vehicle that struck her had veered left after the collision. Officers searched the area and obtained surveillance video that showed a white hatchback striking LaVacca and fleeing east on Main Street.
