CLEVELAND – An Akron man was killed and two people, including a minor, were “seriously” injured in a car crash in a Stark County community Friday evening.

According to the Canton office of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a 2006 Ford Freestyle driven by Canton resident Dajanique A. Stencil Archie, 35, of Akron, was in the passenger seat and was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to the hospital. Police say he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Two minors were injured in the accident, one of them seriously. The seriously injured youth was taken to Altman Hospital and then flown to Akron Children’s Hospital. The other child suffered minor injuries and was taken to Akron Children’s Hospital as a precaution, police said.

Sanders, 27, was taken to hospital with “serious” injuries.

According to highway patrol, Sanders was traveling westbound on U.S. 30 when she left the right shoulder lane, then oversteered and continued to veer off the left side of the road and into the eastbound lane before the car rolled over the guardrail.

The highway police did not release any further information about the current condition of Sanders and the juvenile passengers.
