Wanted men arrested in separate incidents at Motel 6 on I-71: Middleburg Heights police report

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio –

Warrant served: Engle Road

A wanted 26-year-old Cleveland man was arrested at around 3:30 a.m. on June 10 at the Motel 6, 7219 Engle.

Someone had called the police because a man and a woman were arguing in one of the rooms at a Motel 6. When the police arrived, a motel employee said she wanted to remove the couple from the room.

However, when police entered the room, no one was there. Shortly afterward, the man from Cleveland arrived. He said he and his wife had argued and she had driven away in her car.

Police learned the man was wanted in Elyria. They met Elyria police at a bus stop and turned him over.

Arrest warrant served, driving with a suspended license: Interstate 71

A wanted 32-year-old Cleveland man was arrested on I-71 around 11:30 a.m. on June 9.

Police observed the man’s Honda station wagon pulling out of a hotel parking lot on Rosbough Drive. The man had not signaled as he turned south onto Engle. The Honda’s windows were tinted.

Police stopped the van as it was traveling south on 71. The man did not have a license. Police learned he was wanted for a probation violation in Montgomery County.

Shoplifting: Southland Drive

Police hope to identify and charge a man who stole nearly $400 worth of alcohol from Giant Eagle, 6869 Southland, around 5 p.m. on May 31.

Surveillance video taken four days after the theft showed the man packing several bottles of liquor into a duffel bag and a bottle into his waistband. He left the store without paying.

Possession of drug paraphernalia: Bagley & Engle Roads

A 36-year-old Warrensville Heights man was summoned to court around 10:30 a.m. on June 10 after police found a digital scale in his car.

Police stopped the man’s Buick Lacrosse in the parking lot of a Marathon gas station on the corner of Bagley and Engle because the car’s windows were tinted too dark.

A police dog was brought to the scene and indicated that the Buick may have contained narcotics. Police found the digital scale in the driver’s door.
