One woman killed, another injured in accident | News

ROCK RAPIDS – One woman was killed and another seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash near Rock Rapids on Friday, June 14, around 4:25 p.m.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 48-year-old Joni Lyn Wulf of Rock Rapids was driving north on Highway 75 when her 2004 Chevrolet Impala veered left of the center line about three miles south of Rock Rapids.

Megan Ann Klapperich, 29, of Orange City, was driving a 2018 Jeep Compass northbound and attempted to avoid Wulf’s vehicle by swerving to the left. According to the report, the two vehicles collided head-on in the northbound lane.

Wulf was pronounced dead at the scene.

Klapperich was transported by Avera Careflight to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Wulf’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 19, at 10 a.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester.

The burial will take place in the church cemetery.

Visiting hours will be Tuesday, June 18, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall of the church.

Arrangements are under the care of Jurrens Funeral Home in Rock Rapids.
