Atlanta man convicted of shooting, killing man in 2022

Sincere Rush, 22, was convicted in the November 2022 death of 51-year-old Marcus Bradford.

DECATUR, Ga. — A jury has convicted an Atlanta man of shooting and killing another man outside a rooming house, according to a news release from the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office.

Sincere Rush, 22, was convicted of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The charges stem from the November 28, 2022 death of Marcus Bradford, 51.

Around 10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 3300 block of Clifton Church Road. They found Bradford on the ground in the carport, shot in the torso. Rush was also on the scene.

The owner does not live on the property but rents the five bedrooms. Bradford’s girlfriend was one of the tenants. She told police she and Bradford were eating pizza in a car when Rush approached them. Bradford got out of the car to explain to Rush that they weren’t loud, and Rush shot him.

Rush called 911, saying Bradford had been aggressive and the shooting was self-defense. Audio and surveillance video, however, contradict his story.

Rush will be sentenced at a hearing on July 10.
