A family has suffered another tragedy after a 15-year-old girl died in a car crash, just years after her brothers, aged 13 and 16, died in separate incidents.

Molly Dempsey, 15, died in a car crash in Baltinglass, County Wicklow, Ireland, just before 5am on May 5.

She was a passenger in the crashed car and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by emergency services. No one else was seriously injured in the crash.

Gardai arrested the male teenage driver on suspicion of violating traffic regulations. He was arrested at a Garda train station but has since been released.

Molly’s older brother Roy died in September 2007, aged just 13, and the family lost another child when 16-year-old Killian died in May 2016, reports the Irish Independent.

In the 15-year-old’s obituary, her family wrote: “Beloved sister of the late Roy and Killian.” She is survived by her heartbroken parents Nigel and Mary, brothers Joe, Charlie and Jake, sisters Laura, Yvonne and Ella, grandmothers May (Fox) and Dolly (Dempsey), their uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family and many friends will be sadly missed.”

Her friends have described Molly as having a “beautiful angel” and tributes to the girl have been posted on social media, with mourners offering their support to the Dempsey family.

Molly’s funeral will take place at the family home on Friday morning, with a funeral mass at 11am at St Joseph’s Church, Baltinglass, followed by Molly’s burial at the local cemetery.

Meanwhile, Gardai were searching for witnesses to the collision and asked people to check their CCTV or dashcam footage from the Slaney Park area between 4.30am and 5am on Sunday morning.
