ABC-7 First Alert: Borderland braces for sweltering heat, relief in sight

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – Scorching heat continues to grip the border region. Highs of 104 degrees Fahrenheit are expected in El Paso, and Las Cruces is expected to see highs of 102 degrees Fahrenheit.

Warm and dry weather will continue throughout the weekend and into mid-week as a deep, dry westerly flow prevails across the region.

However, things are looking up as moisture from the east will bring increased cloud cover and the likelihood of afternoon showers and storms from midweek.

This change in temperature promises a slight drop in temperatures to over 30 degrees and the week may end below the dreaded three-digit mark.
