Be prepared for the warm weather expected to arrive next week

The city’s emergency services manager, Thomas Luby, gave safety tips Friday for hot, foggy and humid weather. He said it’s important to stay hydrated and check in on friends, family and neighbors who don’t have air conditioning.

Luby said you might also want to keep an eye on your cell phone.

“You always have to look at the forecast a little bit … in case we need to recharge electronic devices because of their power in case something happens,” Luby said.

The city of Buffalo will also offer a series of cooling centers. Mayor Byron Brown said Friday those locations would be announced soon.
