Man arrested for allegedly exposing himself to minors and sexually abusing adult victim | State news

SHERMAN, Texas — A 27-year-old man was arrested Thursday for allegedly exposing himself to a minor and sexually assaulting an adult victim, police said.

On June 13, at approximately 10:17 a.m., Sherman Police responded to a call in which a juvenile reported that an adult male was exposing himself in the 4100 block of Towncenter Street. The suspect was identified as Christopher Dunlap, 27, of Sherman.

Later that same day, police responded to a separate call in the 3100 block of Rex Cruse Drive regarding an assault. It was reported that a male suspect had physically assaulted an adult victim, causing serious but non-life-threatening injuries and had also sexually assaulted the victim. The suspect in that investigation was also Dunlap.

Due to his involvement in the second incident, investigators obtained a warrant for Dunlap’s arrest for aggravated sexual assault. Dunlap was tracked down and arrested by Gainesville Police. Due to his involvement in the first incident, a second warrant was obtained for Dunlap’s arrest for sexual assault. Dunlap is currently in the Cooke County Jail.

“We would like to not only acknowledge the diligent work of our patrol officers and detectives, but also thank the Gainesville Police Department for their efforts in quickly locating and arresting Dunlap,” Sherman police said.
