City of Augusta Mayor Jeff Collins leans back in his chair as he and Comptroller David Chapel answer questions from members of the Legislature’s Joint Audit Subcommittee on Counties and Municipalities during a committee meeting at the State Capitol, Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023. Collins stormed out of the room during questioning, which was sparked by allegations from Augusta City Council member Perry Galloway of possible financial mismanagement.
