Mother seeks justice for North Myrtle Beach drunk driving crash that killed her husband

This Father’s Day weekend marks one year since Ana Brown lost her husband, Thomas Brown, in a North Myrtle Beach crash that police say was caused by alcohol.

Last June, the Brown family was turning onto Robert Edge Parkway when, according to police, Nancy Bishop, who was under the influence of alcohol, crashed into their vehicle.

“It was hell, it was absolute hell,” said Ana Brown.

Nancy Bishop is currently out of prison on bail and is charged with drunk driving.

The physical, emotional and financial pain Brown has endured over the past year cannot compare to having to remind her three children of their father’s love every day.

The North Myrtle Beach Playground and Sports Complex was the last place where Thomas was seen alive with his family.

“They were his world. He would go home from work, to work, and that was the only day he wanted to bring them here to play,” Brown said.

Not only does she feel that justice is not being served quickly enough, but she still feels the pain from the day of the accident that Bishop allegedly caused.

“It holds me captive and despite the pain, I am constantly reminded of it,” Brown said.

Brown wants to continue sharing her experiences with others and hopes that this will make other people more aware of their road safety.

“People think drunk drivers only kill you at one or two in the morning. No, they kill you on the way to dinner,” Brown said.

Brown said she wants to be there every step of the way to get justice for her husband.
