Police officer charged with raping minor girl in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh; complaint filed | Crime News

The accused not only married another girl but also threatened to kill the victim when she proposed marriage to him. The victim was upset by this and then approached the SSP of Bareilly and filed a complaint against the police officer.

Bareilly: In a shocking incident, a police officer in Bareilly in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh allegedly raped a student by promising to marry her. The accused also threatened to publish the video on the Internet if she filed a complaint against him, police said.

The victim was threatened by the defendant

Police shared more details about the incident and added that the accused not only married another girl but also threatened to kill her when the victim asked the accused to marry her. The victim was upset with this and then approached Bareilly SSP Ghule Sushil Chandrabhan and filed a complaint against the police officer. Though an FIR has been filed in the case, the accused police officer remains at large.

Both the accused and the victim met at a wedding in Kasganj nearly three years ago and after that the police officer and her kept in touch. The police officer even allegedly had sexual intercourse with her several times under the pretext of marriage and also shot an obscene video of her. Subsequently, when the victim asked the accused to marry her, the latter demanded Rs 40 lakh as dowry. However, when she refused, the police officer decided not to marry her and married another woman instead. According to the girl’s family members, she is scared because the accused threatened to make her obscene photos and videos viral.

In early April, a six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an 11-year-old boy in a village in Agra. While the victim was admitted to hospital for treatment, the minor accused was arrested by the police.

According to police, the victim remains under observation and his condition is critical. Authorities deployed additional police forces to the village fearing tensions as the accused and the victim came from different communities.
