Two were arrested following a police presence in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY, ​​NY (NEWS10) – Schenectady Police announced two people were arrested in connection with an incident near Crane Street on Tuesday. Wendell Boone, 39, and Catoria Pittman, 35, both face multiple charges.

On May 7, at approximately 1:01 p.m., police responded to the 900 block of Crane Street after a report of a fight between a man and a woman in which a gun was allegedly fired, allegedly in the presence of a baby . Officers arriving at the scene began searching for suspects and eventually located and arrested Pittman at approximately 2:31 p.m


It was reported locally that the man involved in the dispute had entered a nearby apartment while attempting to evade law enforcement. Schenectady police continued to search for the man throughout the day and into the evening after receiving backup from state police and surrounding agencies.

At approximately 9:41 p.m., officers located Boone lying between buildings in the area and arrested him without further incident. A loaded handgun was reportedly recovered during the search.

According to police, Boone and Pittman know each other and their 2-year-old child was allegedly present at the first argument. You are now facing the following charges:

Schenectady police said the child is currently safe. Schenectady County Child Protective Services is assisting in this case.
